Welcome everybody!
Well, 2009 has gone, and 2010 is here. New year, new decade, new thread.
This is a place to come and hang out, bring your friends. Make yourself at home.
Oh, you may or may not know that I'm a huggaholic. Hugs are freely given. I've been known to do drive by huggings in other people's threads. Just thought I should let you know.
I'm here as much as I can be, but there are times when I do struggle to get here for one reason or another. Please continue to talk amongst yourselves in here and I'll get in when I can.

Hi Ray! How are you doing? Not long until you go away.
Yeah, I thought I'd freshen the place up a bit. I want to be a bit more friendly around here instead of whinging all the time.
Managed to get some of John's cross stitch unpicked today. John and Joan asked me if the remainder of what was there was what I'd just finished stitching. Uh...no! I'm still unpicking. It's a really fine weave, and if I'm not careful, there will be holes in it that I can't fix. Oh well, I'm hoping to get the last of the unpicking done tomorrow, and get some stitching started. I blew it today and said something to Joan about unpicking John's cross stitch. I hope he didn't hear me. I'd really like it to be a surprise.

Hard not to be on the sunny side when we're in the middle of summer. It's supposed to be about 105F tomorrow.  Oy vey! The 3 of us have been invited to a friend's birthday where they will be having a barbecue. I'm still not well from the other day, so I'm not going. Joan's trying to decide whether to go. If she goes, it may be hot enough that she and John feel like THEY are on the barbecue!

My little men aren't so little anymore. .... 14 & 8 so I'm sure what ever movie they pick out will have explosions, car chases, etc.

In other words, typical boy stuff. That's ok though. Not that I've seen many movies in recent years, there's some decent action movies out there.

Hiya Trish! I was telling my hubby about my "friend" who is experiencing the summer heat right now! Wish you could bottle up some sunshine and send my way. We are waking up to temp. 27 but with windchill it feels like 19 degress here!
How is life treating you these days?

Hi Melissa. Good to see you again.
You would be more than welcome to bottle as much of our sunshine and heat as you would like. We're in a heatwave, and it's going to keep being that way for quite a while. I really dislike this heat. It's humid, meaning you are a dripping mess all the time. The fibromyalgia HATES it with a passion! I don't know why, but today, whenever I think of the heat and how long it's meant to stay like this, I just want to cry. I so can't wait to get back to much cooler temperatures! I used to prefer summer to winter, but not anymore. Today I've been melting all over everything.
I did manage to get have a semi-productive day today though. I'm working on a cross stitch, and I've nearly finished the border. That's just the beginning though. Still a lot more to be done, but at least it's a start.
How are you doing?

It seems so strange seeing all of our threads all locked up, so that when they disappear, they can be purged. Feels like I'm losing something.
