Same here, 'cept a little later than Mike as it was his link that got me hooked.

I also bought my first Lincoln Brewster cd last week. While I'd heard his singles, and considered them weak, I'm much more impressed with the stuff they don't play on the radio.

I saw a little bit of Paramore on Paladia the other day. They sounded pretty good.

They've probably been around for a while, but I'm just now getting into the North Mississippi All Stars.

I have come acrossed so many talented bands as of late.

Kronicles (if your liking the harder rock side of things)
Chunky Son (if you like a Family Force 5 crunk-rap sound)
Hymns of Eden (did an interview with them on my show about a year ago...guys need to be heard!)
Nine Lashes (same thing...interviewed them on my radio show back in May '09 and definitely need to be heard)

That's cool. I just wanted to make sure I was on the same page as you. I haven't heard them but I've seen their CD everywhere and I was intrigued by the name since I was reading some US "antebellum" (before the Civil War) history.

I saw an interview clip by them and that is how they got the name, well dressed up in civil war attire anyway.

I just discovered Straight No Chaser, a group of guys who do wonderful harmonies. I also discovered a husband and wife team from another country who sing really well together. They were on PBS and both of them looked like they were so in love. They are coming to my state, CT and I would love to go. They sing a mixture of pop and rock and some oldies. I can't remember their names at the moment. Last but not least is Celtic Thunder, the male equivalent of Celtic Women. I love the way they sing and I love their harmonies. I can't believe they came to our downtown theater and my mom and I didn't go!

They aren't a new band, but I've just recently picked up a couple of albums from Katatonia. They're from Sweden, and I think they have branded their style as dark rock. Very cool band. I find the music pretty relaxing.

The albums I bought are The Great Cold Distance and Night is the New Day.
