Hey All,

I am looking for some home remedies to get rid of this yeast infection I have. I was on antibiotics for a while and I guess it is common to get a yeast infection while on anitbiotics. I don't want to take any more medications. I have drinking a bunch of water, eating yogurt and taking acidphilous (sp?). Is there anything else I can do?

The only thing that has worked for me is Diflucan which is a one time dose pill that you take. I have never tried the over the counter stuff though because I am never sure if it is truly a yeast infection. I have had 2 and both times I went to the doctor for it because the whole drink water, area it out, and yogurt bit did not do anything.

Next, time you are going to be on an antibotic let the doctor know that you are prone to yeast infections and ask that they also call in a rx for Diflucan just in case. That is what I do.

Garlic. take a clove of garlic peal it, cut a couple narrow slits in it to let the juice out, wrap it in gauze and stick it up there.
Also, you can spread plain yogurt on the effected area, or freeze plain yogurt in a tampon applicator and use that.
I know the garlic stops the itching within a couple minutes and the frozen garlic also stops the itching but it's crazy messy.

Taking garlic caps everyday will keep it at bay--watch your sugar intake that makes it grow----

Make sure you leave time between taking the antibiotic and the acidophilous otherwise they will affect each other.

Any time I take antibotics I eat a small container of yogurt with live and active cultures.
