I just feel in my spirit that it is useless to make any life changing decisions right now. It's like the Lord is telling me not to bother because time is very short. Desires and plans that I had made seem to not really matter anymore. I use to hope for a better job, and a lot of other things for my life. I just kinda feel that things are about to come apart fairly quickly

Chris, I hear what you are saying friend, and these things can be scary when we over focus on them. However it is important to remember that all the things that are talked about within end time scripture 'isn't' going to happen to every person or even every nation. There is a lot to indicate that much of what is to take place is to be focused on the Middle East. Also dear friend, try not to view it all in such a way as to feel that 'all' and 'everything' is going to happen to you personally, as nearly all of it probably won't. As much as it feels as though it is certain that we are about to go through the end times soon, remember that non of us truly know how long these things will take to come about. Remember, a thousand years is as a day to the Lord, and things can run a lot slower than we can imagine, and things can take a lot longer too. God wants us to enjoy life and more abundently too! He says we are not apointed to wrath, but to escape God's judgement because of what Jesus did for us. I feel like things maybe close, but am aware I could enjoy a good long life yet before things move to that final hour. But even if it were soon, God will deliver us, and until then He doesn't want us to fear, but continue to enjoy the life He gave us, loving and building. Please, try to focus on positive things, God loves us all and is in control. If there ever comes a time where we were to be someone that needed to be strong, He will strengthen us. Many have thought in the past that they were in the last days and there were no point in continuing, Paul and Peter strengthened similar fears in early believers by telling them that they were not appointed to wrath! So lets study end times, but not so much that it begins to take our eye off the goodness of God. Balance our studies with reading God's goodness in Christ. keep a balance or we go under! I'm speaking to myself here also. Bless you, Sonic

Chris…you have to plan to move ahead but in this time of economic uncertainly you have to do it wisely. Keep your debt low and hopefully you money not in the stock markets...if possible…and don’t over extend yourself. We feel that then end is near but people have felt that way before in history and have been wrong. If we would all sell or give everything away and then nothing happens…we’ve lost. Who knows we might just all have the post election blues. No you have to plan like things will go on as normal with the exception of the economy and a new president that you have no ideal as to how he will govern. I think the one thing you can plan on is higher taxes and a lower income. I am not worried about the future because God has promised to take care of me…He always has and always will. The Lord knows what He has planned for us…for us to prosper…not to be harmed and to give us a future filled with hope: We have to seek Him in our prayers with all our heart and soul…then He will hear us and be available to us. Jer 29:11-13 Bob

Just keep putting one foot in front of the other. Always remember that what plans you make today, God can change tomorrow. However, continue to go to work, excel, and be a good example. This is the time when we need to SHINE. Jesus asked the Father that we not be taken out of this world. We are his representation to the world, the salt of the Earth. Proceed boldly against evil. Do not worry about career problems until they start telling you that in order to remain employed you need a mark implanted in your right hand or forehead. Until then, go to work, love your family, make those tentative plans, and let not your heart be troubled. The world is going to give us trouble, but our Lord Jesus has overcome the world. He is the one in whom our hope rests.

Yeah, I think fear of things to come can paralyze us, sometimes. Don't get me wrong, I find it exciting to be discussing these matters with my brethren as we strive to remain awake and discerning of the signs of the times. That being said, I say get active in your church, community, and get involved in some of the grassroots initiatives to take back our liberty and reaffirm the Constitution as the rule of law in this nation (not the whims of Congress and the President). Remember, "the only way for evil to prevail is for good people to do nothing." (I don't know who said that originally, but it wasn't me). Connect with people, so that through you the Holy Spirit can work in sowing the Word and reaping souls for the Lord. Offer yourself to the Lord and ask him to make you his instrument. God bless.

Well... I didn't really mean just quitting work and jumping into the bunker, and not being productive.. I fully understand.. We may be here for another 50 years... even 100 years.. I dont know... I just feel very strongly that things are coming.. I think most people who truly have their head out of the sand feel it. I've heard from countless people that feels the same way. Not just on a economic level. On every level. I feel as if I'm under more spritual attacks than I've ever been. I'm hearing more and more Christians than are changing their thinking, their plans. That their putting off doing certain things that they had planned on.. Not quitting jobs or anything like that.. We all gotta work.. We all got our roles.. I'm not saying to just give up and hope that Jesus comes back soon... I hope he does though.. I think it's more of a matter of getting back to basics. I think we need to.. I need to... Christmas is coming.. My girlfriend is getting all excited about rushing out and buying all this stuff for me, and her kids.. I've been trying to tell her to slow it down a bit.. Lets lay off the "stuff"... Your kids needs to learn to lay off the "stuff". Thats what I tell her.. My very own job is on the line right now. I manage a used car lot.. you think people are buying cars right now? It's tough.. I'm not very concerned with the "stuff" of Christmas.. A good meal, fellowship, and just being together.. Thats what I long for.. The basics.. I could be very wrong... All these things that are taking place right now could very well just come to pass.. Everything might just smooth over, and it'll be rainbows and lollipops... The people I trust.. and not the mainstream media... tell me otherwise... bad times are coming... If it does all smooth out and evertthings fine, the money starts rolling again, and there's peace on earth... I think it'll be false.. pride goeth before the fall.... Greed and corruption will continue...

I think that this may be just such a time to, instead, make those life changing decisions at heart to seek what God has for Us in Christ Jesus in service of The Kingdom. Worldly wealth is useful for only the failing world, the purchase of Gold refined in the fire is lasting. Through patience and persistance, one cultivates fruit acceptable for God yielding hope, not disappointment. quote:

Sounds to me Chris like you have you head on pretty straight. I would be inclined to agree with all you have said. When the body of Christ starts to move in a certain direction you can pretty well be assured that the Holy Spirit is the reason. Bob

It's looking to me like the wheat is becoming distinctive from the tares. May be time for a new thread to see if others are seeing the same thing. Hmmm....

Yeah Chris, I totally relate. We are meant for greater things. I, too, have been chasing every other thing under the sun for the last 7-8 years. However, in the past year, I've been waking up from my intellectual and spiritual slumber. I am seeing the world happen and questioning and seeking answers. Besides all that, I am finding that fellowship and meeting my basic needs with some fun mixed in is all that really satisfies me. I'm forfeiting my spot in the race to be the guy with the most and best stuff. Let's armor up and be ready. For even if we don't see the end time events in our lifetime, every generation has its tribulations and spiritual battle to do. Take care.

Shalom, Bob. Amen to that! I personally like to choose the "high road." I get optimistic and get pumped when I see those who don't know enough about God or His Son come to power, not because I believe in them in any way; just because I see a GREATER SHOW of God's power when they somehow happen to do the right thing anyway because "the king's heart is in the hand of the Lord!" AND, if those who choose to do evil flaunt their wicked "lifestyles" in the face of GOD (including blasphemy or belittling GOD in any manner), I stretch out my thumb and pinky in as straight a line as possible, put my thumb on my head with my pinky pointing straight up, and yell, "LIGHTNING RODS UP! HERE IT COMES!" Remember, GOD STILL WINS! In fact, if they choose to ignore Him or belittle Him, HE ONLY WINS FASTER AND SOONER! Roy (aka Retrobyter)

Yay! - I like that Retro! Good positive attitude too. And yes, generally, this site is a comfort to us all that see the day approaching, as we can keep a lookout together, but also are here to remind each other that CHRIST WINS!!!

I know what you mean - I feel too as if something is going to happen real soon. As if we are waiting for something. Personally, I am starting a new job next week, and as a result things are looking brighter financially than for some time. I don't really feel that excited about it though. Interesting times coming up.

I think what you maybe sensing from God is to put away YOUR personal desires and pick up HIS personal desires, like saving the lost. The things I had planned for myself I no longer want to do. Now that I've put myself on His track, I don't care about that junk anymore. God doesn't want us to just give up, His word says He wants to prosper us. Just pray what He wants you to do, not what you want to do. And yes, hard times are a coming, but God is faithful and He will be there for us. He will put us on our own arcs while the rest of the world suffers. quote:

While we always have to be ready in every season, I think the possibility is there that the Holy Spirit is stirring many of us out of our comfortable worldly slumber. I know I have been more than caught up with my routines and pursuit of my own self-interests. However, though I think I've finally awoken, it is a fact that I've been hitting the snooze button for at least a year. I think it is a good sign that so many of us are discovering a need to refocus our attention. Even if that great and terrible time is far off relative to our perception, I think it is very good when we begin to turn our focus to God. More of Him, less of me.
