It wasn't a big success. Southern Gospel wasn't really set up for a soloist at that point. As a matter of fact, despite the plethora of soloists out there, there's yet to be one who has a drawing power anywhere near that of one of the big groups, I think.

Daniel,
Come to NC and that rule doesn't apply to Michael Combs and Ivan Parker. I get what you are saying though, I would agree that generally soloists don't have the same drawing power as groups.

All right; I guess I was just overgeneralizing from my experiences here in Ohio. The best a soloist gets around here is a medium-sized church.

Well my son Jacob was 15 in April and he attended his first GV Concert in my tummy
It has been such a blessing for my son to grow up with 3 such Godly men as examples. So Thank You Gerald, Rodney, and Jason for your ministry.. Donna

My ex-husband is going to see Greater Vision on Sunday night!! I don't know if this is their very first gospel concert, but he's supposed to let me know how they like GV! I'll be sure to report it here! Hey, Gerald, if you see this, he's supposed to try to meet you and tell you he knows GVfan, so if you see him you'll know. His name is Eddie and his daughter is Shelby.

Is there any truth to the rumor that they were photograhed in bib overalls, like the Fairfield Four?

I hope NOT!

BTW, I just got a chance to listen to the "teaser" on their new CD. Now I really can't wait to get it!

I have most of Greater Visions projects that they made , except for these i don't have:

Fifteen,
Church Hymnal Vol 4,
Then and Now CD,

The new Live at First Baptist Church DVD,

and that first rare CD.

But other than those i have all their stuff.

This weekend I was thinking about Rodney Griffin's song, Just Pray (don't ever give up, don't ever give up, don't ever give up, just pray) a LOT.

This weekend we saw my husband's 31 year old son get baptized! Halleluah!!!! We've prayed for both of hubby's children for years, and we've never given up.

And yesterday I reminded the 28 year old (unsaved) daughter that now that her brother has been saved and baptized, we're "doubling" up on our prayers for HER!

Don't ever give up, Don't ever give up, Don't ever give up...JUST PRAY!

That's good news, GVfan! Now she just needs Jesus! If only she knew what she was missing, she would wish she had done it a long time ago!!

Wish I was close enough, I would!! But an hour isn't far, I go further than that by myself all the time.

I saw them on July 22nd and I could go see them again in Cincinnati on September 9, just before they head to the NQC. However, I am going to the L5 Labor Day weekend Celebration a week earlier so my funds will be depleted.

I just got this week's GV newsletter. I'm glad I clicked on the link again for sound clips from the project. Last week, when I clicked, it took me to a clip from one song, "It Means Just What it Says." This time, it played clips from several songs.

That is sooo funny, Daniel. When I finally clicked (can't get sound downloads at work), I got ALL the songs. I wanted only "It Means Just What It Says!!"

I think they finished the final editing this week, which means they might be shooting for NQC with the DVD, too!
