ORIGINAL: hdsnprry tomorrow is my friday and i am looking forward to my weekend off. were i'm at we work 12 hour shifts and it isn,t that bad when you get use to it, except when you work seven days in a row then you start to get burnt out.. Working 7 days in a row will lead anyone to burnout. Take it easy and don't burn out... that's no fun. So who watched American Idol tonight?

So who watched American Idol tonight? I just saw the last three singers. This is the first I've seen it all year. I like watching when they get down to the top 12 or so. . .

This week has been extremely busy for me, because I and my girls leave tomorrow to drive to Kentucky to visit my oldest daughter and her husband. So it has not been long, but short! And I have worked HARD! Now I am at a stand-still, though, because the water has been off all morning and we can't wash or shower to finish our preparations to go. I do have to work for a bit this afternoon, so I'm hoping I won't have to go to work without a shower, . If necessary, I suppose we can take dirty clothes with us and wash them when we get there. But we are excited! I have never done a long trip like this by myself before...last time we went my son was with us and did most of the driving and navigating. It doesn't look too hard to do. I feel a sense of accomplishment because we had to do some creative financing (i.e., selling things!) to be able to make this trip...although we did get a large monetary gift from my parents which helped a lot. After this, though, God will have to provide me a job before I can go see them again. I won't have anything else to sell, haha. shallbe

Last night was the first time I'd watched it, too. I was impressed with the last two singers. Tonight they'll be eliminating four to reveal the top 12 finalists. I wonder who they will be?

blueeyedgirl i work in maintenance [elec.] the company that i work for is unlin which is a part of mohawk, we make fiber board.... well i see you made it through your 12 hour shift, and have another tomorrow, well i wish you the best, i would imagine that 12 hours with out a break would really were you down, not sure were you work but i picked up you are a nurse, so try not to take a nap in any of those empty beds... grace n mercy i have worked a many 7 days 12 hour shifts but it was a two years ago, the most i'll do now is 5 in a row, i know i mentioned 7 in a row but it hasn't been anytime of late, and yeah when i did it i would work 7 straight every other week and yeah it did get old fast trainfan we have shut downs every so often and then we pull the 15 and 16 hour shifts and yeah i'm usually dragging out of there. the president of the plant and some of the other higher ups, are really into taking care of themselves, these guys are in there 40s and 50s and they are big into running and when we have our shutdowns these guys are all over the place all day long and it seems like they are going just as strong at night as they were in the morning, has always impressed me, i have messed around with weights but never been a runner, but i'm giving running a shot, and i can tell a big difference since i started,

Trainfan. . . Yes, 14-15 hour days would be worse, but at least you have a good boss who lets you take breaks! Sometimes my boss does but it's becoming increasingly rare.

I couldn't run much, my knees won't take the pounding and I don't want to push it and end up having knee surgury.

And like you, it's been a long time since I've done that.

Hey Everyone, my back has been bothering me for the past few months, but came to a head on Wednesday. I went home before even punching in and went home early yesterday. I called in again today. I cannot keep up like this, and chances are I can no longer do my existing job either.

Hi GnM and Hdsnprry I do not know what I am gonna do. I probably will go on short-term disability, that is if I still have a job by then. I will also have to seriously consider a career change among other things. I just do not know what I can do that will not involve a lot of physical stamina.
